Early Adopters of Business Blogs

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Home Ranch results for Women’s Yoga RetreatEarly adopters of business blogs are really starting to see the results of their blogging efforts especially in the organic search results. This can be seen in a recent search on ‘Women’s Yoga Retreat’ in Google. The Home Ranch blog post is listed 4th in the results of about 807,000 matches.

The Home Ranch started blogging nearly a year ago and the recent upgrade of both the site and blog design really gives them an edge over other companies that offer the Colorado Dude Ranch experience.

Another site that is seeing the results pay off is the Winter Park Blog. Vacations Inc results for Snow BulletinsVacations Inc started blogging in January 2006 and today a quick search on ‘Winter Park Blog’ brings up the Vacations Inc site as #1. Make a search on ‘Colorado Snow Bulletins’ and again they come up #1 & #2 out of 963,000 results. By writing about the local area they are creating posts that use keywords that help to bring more traffic to the site. Some of these words might be more obscure but all are targeted search terms that others sites might not be using.

A blog helps create the “long tail effect’ that the online community talks about in detail. The long tail brings traffic to the site from many different search terms and keywords that people use online and for Vacations Inc. is helping bring traffic to a very competitive area of the market, Winter Park Lodging.
