Asheville Cabins Blog, North Carolina
Friday, March 30th, 2007
The team at Asheville Cabins wanted to enhance their current site by adding the ability to post about events in the area. The current site is built on ColdFusion, an application program for dynamic web sites and they were happy with their current site, hosting company and provider. They decided that they wanted to keep the current site where it was but use the Blizzard team for promotion, tracking and SEO. The main site resides on the clients server while the blog resides on the Blizzard servers. The transition from the current site to the blog is seamless for the visitor to the site.
To make the transition seamless we created a customized WordPress template for the client that exactly matched their current site. We then created a subdomain and pointed it to the blog site. Now when a visitor clicks on the Blog link from the navigation they are sent to the blog on the Blizzard servers but they would never know that the two sections of the site are on different servers.
The great thing about using the Blizzard business blogging option for the site is that it was a very cost effective way to add a blogging function to the site without having to build the program in ColdFusion, would have been costly. The team now has the ability to create additional content on the site via the blog with a very easy to use interface.
Asheville Cabins uses the blog to promote the latest Asheville news for the area, as well as information about Asheville attractions, music, events, property reviews, and local cuisine.
